Duties
Bi-Weekly Hours: 60 Hours Bi-Weekly / 12 hour rotating shifts.

The successful applicant as a member of the Health Care Team assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to long- term care residents.
Duties include:
- supervising of staff on an assigned shift and completion of assigned staff performance evaluations;
- providing educational sessions and guidance to staff to ensure residents needs are met in accordance with long- term care philosophy and standards;
- checking, administering, recording and maintaining adequate stock supply of medications;
- providing individual care that meets needs of residents;
- monitoring ongoing physical, social and spiritual needs of residents;
- coordinating referral services with other health professionals to meet these needs; and,
- other related RN duties.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a degree or diploma in nursing from a recognized School of Nursing and be registered with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of PEI.
- Some experience in nursing is required.
- Applicants must have adequate supervisory skills and the ability to deal effectively with staff, residents and their families, and various medical personnel and outside agencies.
- Must have comprehensive understanding of nursing care of older adults and be able to promptly and accurately assess rapidly changing conditions.
- Understands and models a philosophy of person-centered care to residents, staff, and families
Other Qualifications:
- Experience working with cognitively impaired elders would be an asset.
- Additional relevant education and experience would be considered an asset.
- CNA certification in Gerontology would be considered an asset.
