Independent Lawn & Snow Technician – $24/hour
Looking for an outdoor job where you're trusted to get the job done?
Euro Yard Service is looking for a dependable, motivated person who enjoys physical outdoor work, takes pride in doing things properly, and can handle responsibility.
We're not looking for a temporary helper or someone who needs to be supervised throughout the day.
Our goal is to train the right person to eventually take a company vehicle, professional equipment and a daily work schedule and complete their route independently.
During the warmer months, that means lawn and property maintenance.
When winter arrives, the work changes — but the work ethic shouldn't.
What You'll Be Doing
During the lawn and landscape season, your work may include:
- Mowing
- Trimming and edging
- Lawn and property maintenance
- Seasonal cleanups
- Operating professional lawn and landscape equipment
- Loading, unloading and caring for equipment
- Driving a company vehicle between scheduled properties
- Following and managing an assigned daily schedule
- Noticing and communicating issues at customer properties
Some days you'll work with another crew member. Other days you'll be responsible for completing your own route.
Once you're trained, you need to be comfortable working independently with little to no supervision.
This Is a Physically Demanding Job
This isn't a job where you spend half the day sitting in a truck.
You'll be walking, lifting, carrying, pushing equipment, bending, trimming, mowing and moving between properties throughout the workday.
You need to be comfortable:
- Being physically active for most of the day
- Performing repetitive physical work
- Lifting and carrying equipment and materials
- Maintaining a productive pace throughout the workday
- Working outdoors in heat, cold, wind and less-than-perfect weather
- Staying focused while working independently
Just as important as physical stamina is mental resilience.
Weather changes. Schedules change. Equipment occasionally causes problems. Some days are easy; others aren't.
We're looking for someone who can deal with everyday challenges, think for themselves, communicate when necessary and keep moving without needing constant supervision or motivation.
Your standards shouldn't disappear when the work gets difficult.
The Person We're Looking For
You probably won't enjoy this position if you need someone constantly telling you what to do next.
We're looking for someone who:
- Shows up when they say they will
- Is reliable and punctual
- Naturally works with purpose
- Takes responsibility for their work
- Notices details and unfinished work
- Can solve everyday problems independently
- Takes care of vehicles, tools and equipment
- Communicates when something isn't right
- Takes pride in leaving a property looking great
- Maintains their work ethic when conditions aren't perfect
- Enjoys physical work and visible results
We're interested in someone who takes ownership of their day, not someone who simply puts in hours.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Able to qualify to drive company vehicles — driver's abstract/screening required
- Comfortable driving a company work vehicle
- Reliable transportation to and from our starting location
- Comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Good judgment and communication
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
Previous lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, construction, equipment operation or similar hands-on experience is an asset.
Experience is valuable, but reliability, judgment, work ethic and ownership matter more.
What Happens When Winter Arrives?
Ideally, we're looking for someone who wants to stay with us beyond the lawn season.
Winter means snow removal and ice management.
That can mean early mornings, cold temperatures and working when the weather decides it's time to work.
Snow doesn't follow a Monday-to-Friday, 9-to-5 schedule.
Winter working hours are weather dependent and cannot be guaranteed.
Eligible employees who continue into our winter operation may receive a $200 per week standby bonus for maintaining the required availability. Conditions apply.
Pay & Opportunity
- Starting wage: $24/hour
- WCB coverage
- Company vehicle while performing assigned work
- Professional equipment provided
- Opportunity for increased responsibility and pay
- Opportunity to continue into the winter snow-removal season
- $200/week winter standby bonus for eligible employees — conditions apply
Please note: Hours vary throughout the year due to the seasonal nature of our work. During the lawn season, the position may provide full-time hours depending on workload. Late-summer and fall hours may decrease as the season winds down.
Winter working hours depend on snowfall and are not guaranteed.
This Job Isn't for Everyone
And that's okay.
Some days are beautiful.
Some are hot.
Some are wet.
And some winter mornings are downright miserable.
We're looking for someone whose standards don't change with the forecast.
If you genuinely enjoy working outdoors, like being physically active, take pride in doing good work and would rather be trusted with the keys than micromanaged all day, we'd like to hear from you.
