High School Student Success Coordinator

Position: Full-Time (35 hours/week)
Reports to: Program Manager

Sometimes that means helping a student understand algebra. Sometimes it's encouraging a teenager who's losing confidence. Sometimes it's simply being the consistent adult they know they can count on.
As the High School Student Success Coordinator, you'll work alongside schools, families, volunteers and community partners to ensure young people receive the support they need to succeed—not only academically, but personally and socially.
Unlike the classroom, Phelps Helps offers the flexibility to build meaningful relationships, think creatively and tailor supports to each young person's unique strengths and needs.

Phelps Helps is a bilingual nonprofit organization serving children and youth across the Stanstead region. Through tutoring, mentoring, STEM education, youth engagement and employability programming, we support more than 450 children and youth every year.

About the Role
Working with Alexander Galt Regional High School and La Ruche Secondary School, you'll partner with teachers, guidance counsellors, families and community organizations to identify students who may benefit from additional support and coordinate early intervention strategies that complement learning in the classroom.
You'll collaborate closely with every Program Coordinator across Phelps Helps, particularly the Elementary Program Coordinator, to ensure students experience a smooth transition into high school with consistent relationships and support.
You'll also have the opportunity to shape programming, pilot new ideas and help create meaningful opportunities that keep youth connected to school and their future.
What You'll Do
· Build meaningful, trusting relationships with youth.
· Design and deliver engaging tutoring, mentoring and enrichment opportunities.
· Partner with schools, families and community organizations to support student success.
· Identify barriers early and coordinate individualized supports.
· Recruit, mentor and support volunteers.
· Collaborate with fellow Program Coordinators to provide seamless supports across programs.
· Monitor participation and program outcomes to strengthen services.
· Contribute ideas that help Phelps Helps continue to grow and innovate.

Qualifications
We're looking for the right person—not simply the perfect résumé.
· Degree or diploma in Education, Child & Youth Care, Psychoeducation, Social Work, Psychology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Experience working with children or youth.
· Strong communication, relationship-building and organizational skills.
· Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset.
· Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
