Altitude Healthcare is a staffing agency that supports Long Term Care (LTC) homes and hospitals who are experiencing staffing shortages. Our staffing strategy is built for long-term growth and sustainability. We are currently looking for Registered Nurse to join our dedicated, caring and energetic team of support staff. Long-term assignments and travel opportunities are available.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the provision of nursing care in accordance with established standards of nursing practice set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Ability to perform, monitor and interpret ECG's/Cardiac rhythm strips
- IV insertion and administration of IV Meds, including pressers, etc
- Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced and, often, physically demanding environment.
- Critical thinking and ability to triage/prioritize patient needs accordingly based on acuity and CTAS- Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (for ER placements)
- Contributes to the assessment and documentation of each resident‘s health status on an ongoing basis.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluates its ongoing effectiveness. Communicates effectively with residents, staff, families, physicians and team members.
- Ability to run mechanical ventilator and manage the ventilated patient
- Able to perform ACLS Skills (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Provides excellent patient care at all times along with individualized service.
- Observes reports and records symptoms and conditions of residents.
- Administers medication as necessary. Responsible for maintaining the security of drugs and narcotics according to applicable policies and legislation.
- Participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid CNO registration- entitled to practice with no restrictions
- A valid police check for the vulnerable sector- must be dated within six (6) months.
- TB test within the last 12 months
- Covid -19 Immunization Documentation
- Immunization Record (TdaP, MMR, Varicella/Zoster, TST/Mantoux, Hepatitis B)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
