Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will support in the management functions of the hotel operations. They will provide leadership for all of the hotel employees and the services that they provide. The AGM is expected to maintain a high level of integrity, service and hospitality at all times. This includes the duties, skills and attitudes expected of all employees.
In addition, the Assistant General Manager will:
- Provide supervision of front desk staff, including allocation of duties and follow-up to completion of tasks
- Provide supervision of room attendants
- Assist the General Manager with scheduling
- Provide training of front desk staff
- Ensure that room attendants are receiving appropriate training
- Assist the General Manager with recruitment
- Assist the General Manager with regular team meetings
- Order supplies and materials as necessary
- Maximize revenue and minimize costs as effectively as possible
- Assist the General Manager with Accounts Receivable, including company credit applications, invoicing and collections
- Develop a close working relationship with the Food and Beverage operation
- Monitor bus tours, room allocations, team or group rates and conference accommodations rates
- Assist the General Manager with the maintenance of the property
- Inform the lessees of special events and activities at the hotel
- Maintain an active involvement with WCB issues
- Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager
What does an ideal candidate look like?

- Strong desire to get things done
- Has hotel experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
- Post-secondary education in hotel or business management considered an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Pay: $60,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
