This is not a job posting. It is a career offer.
Starting at $20 to $30 per hour, plus bonuses and commission. Top techs earn well above base in their first year.
Most shops hire you to fill a seat. We hire you to build a future. Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Saskatoon is scaling fast, and we are looking for one driven person to join our Drain Division as a Drain Cleaning Technician. You will start by solving real problems in people's homes. Clearing blockages, running cameras, and finding the root cause of sewer issues. From there, you grow.
Your Path Is Mapped From Day One
Helper, to Drain Tech, to Drain Lead, to Underground Sewer Specialist. That is a road from $50K to $220K and up. We are not guessing about it. We built the roadmap. Your job is to show up, learn fast, and earn your way forward.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and clearing residential and commercial drain problems with professional equipment
- Running drain cameras and inspection gear to find the real issue
- Talking straight with customers. You are the face of this company in their home
- Working on your own out of a fully stocked service vehicle
- Learning advanced work like pipe lining, descaling, and jetting as you move up
Who We're Looking For
We do not need your resume to be perfect. We need your character to be:
- Show up. Every day. This one is not negotiable. We invest heavy in our people. That only pays off if you are here, on time, ready to go. If reliability is not your strong suit, this is not your role.
- Be coachable. You will be trained by experienced techs on professional equipment. We want someone who listens, applies the feedback, and gets better every week. Not someone we have to tell twice.
- Take ownership. When you are in a customer's home, you are this company. Do the job right. No cutting corners.
- Stay hungry. We are building something here. If you want more skill and more income, this is the place. If you just want a paycheque, there are easier shops to work at.
- Communicate like a pro. You need to speak and write clear English. With customers, with your team, and with leadership. Honest and on time.
What We Offer
- Real training. We teach you the trade from the ground up. Drain cleaning, cameras, liners, and jetting. You will learn all of it.
- A clear career ladder. Not a vague promise. A written path from Drain Tech to Drain Lead to Sewer Specialist, with the pay to match.
- Performance-based pay. Base hourly plus bonuses and commission. The harder and smarter you work, the more you take home. Good techs do not sit at starting wage for long.
- A team that has your back. We win together, coach through the misses, and keep the drama out.
- A company going somewhere. We are not a small shop trying to stay small. We are scaling. The people who get in now and prove themselves become the leaders we promote.
What We Want To See
Two years of drain cleaning experience is the target. If you have less but you bring real trade knowledge and the right attitude, tell us. We will train the right person.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence. You will be driving a company vehicle
- Physically able to handle the trade. Lifting, crawling, and working in tight spaces
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- General trades knowledge is an asset
- Clean criminal record
- Able to pass a drug screening
- Available for full-time hours, with the odd on-call or weekend
- Live in Saskatoon, or willing to move here
This Role Is NOT For You If
- You need someone standing over you to get things done
- Showing up on time is a struggle
- You want something easy or chill
- You do not take feedback well
- You want a job, not a career
