About Us
Apollo Machine and Products Ltd. has been family-owned and operating in Saskatchewan for over 50 years. We manufacture grain roller mills for multiple sectors and next generation high capacity grain augers through our subsidiary Edge Agro Ltd. We take on custom fabrication work spanning multiple sectors which include aluminum, stainless, and regular steel work — no two days look the same.
We operate out of a modern facility which is heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer, with staff electrified parking for the winter months. We stay lean and nimble by design: we don't hire and lay off like many other manufacturers. Our people tell us we pay better than most manufacturers in Saskatchewan. They appreciate the job security and autonomy they have in the workplace and we credit this environment with our long standing employees.
What matters to us
-Reliability over flash — we'd rather have someone who shows up, pays attention, and does the job right than someone who cuts corners to move fast.
-Ownership — we want people who take pride in their work and speak up when something's not right, not just clock in and out.
-Growth — we invest in training and certifications because we plan to keep people long-term, not cycle through them.
-Adaptability — our small size means the day can look different than planned; we value people who roll with that rather than needing everything mapped out in advance, or those just want a repetitive environment.
About the Role
This is a manual machining position — we are not a CNC shop. We're looking for someone with hands-on mechanical aptitude who takes pride in precision work and wants to build a career with a stable, established local company.
You'll work alongside our senior leads on production of roller mills and augers, along with custom fabrication work across a range of metals supporting our customers across North America and Australia. As you grow into the role, you'll take on more independent tasks and more complex builds.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other conventional machine tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Set up and operate equipment for a variety of custom fabrication jobs
- Assist with other shop/fabrication tasks as workflow demands
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Perform routine machine maintenance
Qualifications
- Some experience with manual machining preferred (this is an early career-level role, but familiarity with shop tools and processes is required)
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Physically able to perform manual labour, including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work well in a team environment
- Machinist apprenticeship/training an asset but not required
- Willingness to learn and take feedback
- Grade 12 minimum, ability to speak, read and write in English is a must
- Class 5 driver's license
- Ability to work independently once shown a task, and as part of a team
What We Offer
- Competitive entry-level wages, with room to grow as your skills develop
- Extended health care, dental, disability, and life insurance
- On-the-job training and support toward certifications (forklift, Bobcat, welding, and more)
- Electrified parking through the winter
- Real job security in a company that doesn't cycle through layoffs
- A long-tenured team who'll actually take the time to teach you the trade
