Job Overview
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the organization's people initiatives, with a primary focus on recruitment and talent acquisition. In addition to managing the full recruitment lifecycle, this position supports a wide range of HR generalist functions, including employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, HR administration, employee engagement, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from job requisition through to offer acceptance.
- Create and post job advertisements across various recruitment platforms.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate hiring manager interviews. Conduct reference checks and background verification processes.
- Prepare employment offers and support compensation negotiations within approved guidelines.
- Maintain talent pipelines by participating in job fairs, campus recruitment events, and employer branding initiatives.
- Coordinate & facilitate orientation and onboarding activities in in conjunction with Operations, HSEQ&T, Fleet, Tools & Facilities, and I.T.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities.
- Support managers with performance management processes, including coaching conversations, performance improvement plans, and documentation.
- Assist with workplace investigations and disciplinary processes, as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
- Assist with HR audits, reporting requirements, and document retention practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to HR processes, systems, learning and development programs and employee experience.
- the development and implementation of HR programs, policies, and best practices.
- Support HRIS data entry, ensuring data integrity. Generate reports as required.
- Support payroll administration by ensuring employee information and changes are communicated accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong background in full cycle recruitment.
- Post-secondary education is required, preferably in Human Resources or business administration
- HR designation (CHRP/CHRL) is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting employee relations in a generalist capacity.
- Working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience using HRIS and ATS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong recruitment and interviewing skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient with the full Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with strong professionalism and business acumen
