The Operations & Commercialization Manager will lead and coordinate day-to-day business operations, manufacturing partnerships, commercialization activities, regulatory compliance efforts, and product quality initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a key link between technical development, production, external partners, and market deployment, ensuring efficient execution across the company.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Manufacturing
- Oversee daily operations across pilot production, manufacturing scale-up, partnerships, and commercialization activities.
- Coordinate with technical, product development, and manufacturing teams to support the transition from pilot to commercial-scale production.
- Develop and implement operational systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Manage relationships with contract manufacturers, suppliers, testing laboratories, and other external stakeholders.
- Monitor operational performance using key metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Commercialization & Business Development
- Support commercialization initiatives, including customer onboarding, product licensing, strategic partnerships, and market deployment.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities required to bring new products to market.
- Assist in preparing operational materials and updates for investors, customers, and strategic partners.
- Support business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Regulatory, Quality & Compliance
- Support product certification, regulatory approvals, and environmental compliance activities, including familiarity with CEPA and related regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities, including analytical testing and product validation programs.
- Assist in developing documentation, quality systems, and compliance procedures required for commercial manufacturing and product sales.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Technical & Product Support
- Work closely with research and technical teams to support product development, validation, and scale-up activities.
- Coordinate analytical testing programs and product performance evaluations.
- Support implementation of testing methods and quality protocols for in-process and final product verification.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, manufacturing partners, and commercial stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Business Operations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operations management, manufacturing, product commercialization, or scaling early-stage technology companies.
- Experience working with external manufacturing partners, suppliers, and technical service providers.
- Knowledge of product certification, regulatory compliance, environmental regulations, or quality management systems.
- Experience supporting commercialization, licensing, product launch, or go-to-market activities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Financial and operational acumen, including budgeting, planning, and performance tracking.
- Self-motivated, hands-on problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset.
