To assist in our current human resource needs, we are seeking to recruit internally or externally one (1) team member who is passionate and committed about making a positive difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities by providing a safe, caring, and inclusive environment to empower their choices, independences, and achieve life fulfillment, in the position of:
Location Supervisor (Full-Time Status)
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Location Supervisor – Petrolia Farm will accept the lead responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the daily operations of a 24-hour supported group living home for persons with developmental disabilities. The Location Supervisor position will also provide vision, direction, and mentoring to their team and promote a cordial, harmonious, risk-free work environment that is respectful of the views, diversities, opinions and contributions of all stakeholders of SFA. The Location Supervisor will ensure their team delivers quality supports and services and uphold a positive and collaborative work environment within the supported group living home.
The Location Supervisor’s primary responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
· Supervision of their team who provide direct supports to their Persons Supported related to daily living activities including, but not limited to: medication administration, hygiene assistance, participation in social & community activities, assistance with feeding, etc.
· Lead their team in the development, implementation, and completion of Individual Support Plans, Person Directed Plans, Behaviour Support Plans, Best Practices/Support Strategies, and Goal Achievements
· Ensure that their team is providing a safe, caring and inclusive environment to empower choice, independence and life fulfillments for the individuals they support
· Ensure the health, safety, well-being, respect, privacy, and security of both the individual supported and their personal property
· Oversight over management of each Persons Supported individual finances including the completion of all Third-Party Financial Reviews
· Foster cohesive and collaborative communication by their dedicated team amongst the people supported, their families, caregivers, community connections and health care professionals
· Ensure SFA and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) are maintained throughout all supports and services provided
· Accountability for providing and ensuring a safe and clean environment in the location, as per QAM standards and SFA expectations
· Provide continuous and regular mentorship, feedback, annual performance reviews, and one-on-one check-in meetings with all team members
· Identify and communicate employee related problems/concerns, and create solutions to resolve the issue at hand, in collaboration the Regional Manager and Human Resources department
· Scheduling and completing location-based orientation, training, mentoring and professional development of all team members to ensure high-quality supports and services are provided
· Complete all team schedules, payroll submissions and other payroll and Human Resources related tasks
· Responsible for maintaining compliance and communicating all health and safety regulations, such as local fire codes, Public Health, OSHA, AODA etc. within their dedicated team
· Ensure all SFA property, equipment, and resources are treated with due care. Identify and submit Maintenance request for all minor repair work to be completed to the property
· In collaboration with the location’s Health and Safety Representative and the Regional Manager, ensure Fire Drills/Emergency Evacuation Plans and Health & Safety Inspections are properly completed and filed
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
· Post-secondary education gained through Community College Diploma or University Degree with specialization in Human Services or related field of study
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in various work settings supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
· Previous experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred and considered an asset
· Demonstrated ability to lead others while modeling a collaborative approach, goal setting, and focus positively and effectively on continuous quality improvement and learning
· Demonstrate flexibility, and ability to adapt under stress to continuously shifting priorities and tasks
· Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and an understanding of resource management to make decisions that are efficient and effective
· High attention to detail, well organized, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to work cooperatively to meet goals, receive directions, and build trusting relationships within a team environment
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; French language and/or American Sign Language considered an asset
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook; experience utilizing Human Resources Management Systems considered an asset
· Valid Class “G” Driver’s license is required
· Criminal Conviction Background Search, including Vulnerable Sector Screening
· Conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and positive way at all times
· Understanding of and adherence to SFA policies, procedures, performance standards and reporting requirements
Normal hours of work is 40 hours per week, 20 hours dedicated to providing direct support, and 20 hours dedicated to administrative/leadership duties, with the opportunity to work remotely 1 day per week at the discretion of the location’s schedule and needs. However, given that this position oversees a 24-hour supported group living home, this position will be required to adapt working hours to meet the needs of the location, as required. This includes the requirement to participate in the location’s On Call rotation and direct support shifts for sick call and vacation coverage
