Key Responsibilities:
SGCC is currently looking for a Golf Course Mechanic to undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Ability to proactively manage equipment, maintenance, and repairs to ensure minimal downtime and significantly boost staff productivity.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment condition, repair costs, and preventive maintenance for all machinery.
- Diagnose and repair Tier 4 engines efficiently.
- Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance tasks in alignment with golf course operations.
- Maintain an organized inventory of repair parts, including nuts, bolts, belts, and hoses.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, both indoors and outdoors.
- Adjust mowers according to the superintendent's standards to achieve optimal performance.
- Perform basic fabrication, welding, and engine rebuilding tasks, and effectively read hydraulic and wiring schematics.
- Complete winter duties, servicing over 60 pieces of equipment, including filter changes, safety inspections, and repairing or replacing worn or broken parts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Stay current with the preventive maintenance schedule and keep detailed records of scheduled and completed maintenance and repairs.
- Engage in physical work that involves kneeling, bending, stretching, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate the ability to think outside the box and implement cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repairs.
Schedule
· Monday-Thursday 6:00 am-2:30 pm
· Friday 6:00 am-11:30 am
Qualifications & Skills :
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical education or certifications in small engine repair or related fields are preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical repair and maintenance (small engines), ideally within a golf course or similar setting.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of outdoor power equipment.
- Practical experience in hydraulic and electrical diagnostics is essential.
- Familiarity with servicing and maintaining diesel and gas engines.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively.
- Willingness to adapt to new technology and strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in welding and fabrication
- Proficient in utilizing computer and technological tools
- Hands-on, detail-oriented individual.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
