Position: Bookkeeper / Bookkeeping Assistant

Part-time
$20-23 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Bookkeeper / Bookkeeping Assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping activities for a variety of small and medium-sized businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in bookkeeping and accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.

This position requires a high level of responsibility, confidentiality, organization, and accuracy. The candidate should be comfortable working with financial documents, entering and organizing accounting information, communicating with clients, and learning new bookkeeping software and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.

· Enter and organize financial transactions accurately and efficiently.

· Process and organize bookkeeping and other documents.

· Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable bookkeeping.

· Assist with bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations.

· Organize and maintain electronic bookkeeping records and supporting documents.

· Assist with tax-related bookkeeping tasks.

· Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping and source deduction documentation as required.

· Perform accurate data entry into accounting and bookkeeping software.

· Communicate professionally with clients by email, phone, and other channels when required.

· Follow established bookkeeping procedures, checklists, and company standards.

· Assist with other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is preferred.

· Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial transactions.

· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

· Strong sense of responsibility and reliability in meeting deadlines and completing assigned tasks.

· Good organizational and time-management skills.

· Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.

· Effective communication skills for professional interaction with clients and team members.

· Punctual and dependable in managing work schedules and deadlines.

· Comfortable working with computers, internet-based applications, and accounting software.

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other common office applications.

· Willingness and ability to learn new bookkeeping software, systems, and procedures.

· Basic understanding of tax principles and document organization.
