We are recruiting for Personal Support Workers/Caregivers and a live-in caregiver on behalf of a female private employer with dementia, a TBI, who is blind, and has arthritis to assist with all activities of daily living.

The employer enjoys shopping, swimming, time with family and is very social, easy-going, and full of energy!

Location:

Victoria, BC (Westshore Town Centre)

Shifts and Hours:

Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays
9:00AM to 5:00PM
Tuesday, and Thursdays
2:00PM to 5:00PM

Compensation:

$30.00 an hour per probationary period
$32 an hour once passed

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Assist with dressing, bathing, showering, and personal hygiene
Assist with medication administration
Daily outings in your vehicle to do shopping, errands, leisure, swimming, or lunch
Meal preparation
Laundry and light housekeeping
The employer is prone to verbal outbursts when she is confused or irritated; She is calmed quickly with reassurance and redirecting.
The employer is a smoker

Qualifications:

Required:

Must be comfortable working in an environment with a pet cat
Must be okay working in an environment where the employer is a smoker

Preferred:

Experience with dementia and redirection
Experience with brain injury care
Must have a Class 5 Driver's License and personal vehicle with proper insurance
Willing to take employer for outings in your personal vehicle
Able to swim and support employer while she is swimming
Companionship experience
