Work should be so much more than just a job you do to earn a paycheque. And at SGI - it is.
We offer the essentials – a competitive salary, great pension, and excellent employer-paid family benefits. But we also provide opportunities. The opportunity to do work that makes a difference in your community. The opportunity to expand your professional skills and grow your career. And the opportunity to come to work every day to a job you’re passionate about and that leaves you feeling happy and fulfilled.
Now that we’ve (hopefully!) sparked your interest, here’s some good news: we’re hiring!
We’re looking for a Director, Commercial Lines Corporate Underwriting to lead the development and ongoing evolution of commercial automobile underwriting governance, processes, standards, reporting, and monitoring across SGI CANADA and its regions.
We hope you consider applying if you:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders to identify business and customer needs, align priorities, and deliver business objectives.
- Leverage deep expertise in Commercial Auto insurance and strong business acumen to inform decisions, support strategy execution, and drive results in a competitive marketplace.
- Have a proven track record of delivering key priorities, including the successful development and implementation of strategies and supporting corporate initiatives.
- Champion SGI’s culture and values by leading through change, supporting people with empathy, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to bring strategies to life and deliver tangible outcomes.
Typically, these skills are gained through a four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in a relevant field of study, such as Business, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial, Applied or Social Science, or a related discipline, along with ten years of experience. This includes six years of leadership experience and four years in a technical insurance, statistical, actuarial, or finance position.
We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way, so please don't hesitate to apply. We'd love to hear from you!
