Job Description
UM Inc is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven individual to join our sales team as a Junior Technical Sales Representative.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to develop a successful career in technical sales within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering, production, and sales teams to support existing customers while gradually developing new business opportunities throughout Quebec.
We provide comprehensive training on our products, industry, and sales processes. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with people, and is motivated to build a long-term career in technical sales.
This position involves regular travel throughout Quebec to visit customer facilities, build relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of customer operations and needs.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with existing customers throughout Quebec
- Conduct regular customer visits to better understand operations, challenges, and opportunities
- Support customers by responding to inquiries, preparing quotations, and following up on opportunities
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to help develop solutions that meet customer needs
- Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities within the Quebec market
- Participate in prospecting activities to help grow UM Inc’s customer base
- Prepare sales presentations, quotations, and technical proposals with the support of internal teams
- Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within the company CRM system
- Develop a strong understanding of UM Inc’s products, services, and the industries we serve
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in customer service, sales, manufacturing, or another customer-facing role
- Recent graduates with relevant internships or co-op experience are encouraged to apply
- Fluent in French and English preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated to learn and develop a career in technical sales
- Self-driven, organized, and results-oriented
- Comfortable interacting with customers and building professional relationships
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout Quebec/Canada
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related industries
- Experience using CRM software or other sales tools
- Mechanical aptitude or an interest in technical products
