We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator to support our food safety and quality management systems while helping maintain the exceptional standards our customers have come to expect.

About the Role
As the QA Coordinator, you will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse teams to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality initiatives throughout the facility.
You will help maintain quality systems, participate in audits, investigate quality issues, and promote a strong food safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Safety & Compliance
- Support the facility's Food Safety and Quality Management System.
- Maintain HACCP plans, prerequisite programs (PRPs), and Preventive Control Programs (PCPs).
- Support compliance with CFIA, SFCR, HACCP, GMP, and customer requirements.
- Participate in annual HACCP reviews and validation activities.
- Assist with Food Defense, Food Fraud, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Stay informed of regulatory changes and communicate updates to management.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine production floor inspections and GMP audits.
- Verify critical quality control points throughout manufacturing.
- Review production and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate product sampling and laboratory testing.
- Investigate quality deviations and out-of-specification results.
- Verify sanitation effectiveness.
- Support traceability exercises and mock recalls.
Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate internal audits and inspection programs.
- Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Assist with certification programs and corrective actions.
- Help maintain audit readiness throughout the facility.
Customer Complaints
- Investigate customer complaints using root cause analysis.
- Identify trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with Production to reduce recurring issues.
Documentation & Training
- Maintain quality documentation and controlled records.
- Review and update SOPs, procedures, forms, and related documentation.
- Manage calibration schedules and supplier quality records.
- Deliver GMP and food safety training to employees.
- Promote a positive food safety and quality culture.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of QA or QC experience in food manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, CFIA, and SFCR requirements (HACCP Certification is preferred).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Dairy industry and SQF or BRC programs experience and Internal Auditor Certification are preferred.
Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour
