Key Responsibilities:

SGCC is currently looking for a Line Cook to undertake the following key responsibilities:

Responsible for prepping and cooking for banquet & catering, as well as proper cleaning and organization of work areas.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Prepare ingredients, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and making sauces, for daily service.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to cook and plate menu items with attention to quality and timing.
Prepare and cook a variety of complete meals and specialty dishes for special events.
Maintain workstation cleanliness and follow sanitation, food safety protocols and be compliant with health and safety regulations.
Follow instructions from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, ensuring high standards in food preparation and presentation.
Set up and monitor buffets and special event displays as needed.
Adjust meal preparations to meet specific dietary requirements as directed by the Executive or Sous Chef.
Regularly inspect preparation and cooking equipment, ensuring it is clean, sanitary, and in optimal working order
Any other duty as assigned by the Executive Chef

Availability: The kitchen is open from 7am to 12am (may end between 11 pm-12 am), 7 days per week.

Work Conditions:

Stand for extended periods and transport up to 50 pounds regularly.
Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.
Will be constantly exposed to high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
Extended hours as required.

Qualifications:

Cooking: 3-5 years of experience (preferred)
Culinary degree or working on a culinary degree (preferred)
License/Certification: Food Safe, Food Handler (having it or working towards it is required)
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Strong customer service, organizational, communication, and time management skills
Must be available to working any shift, evenings, weekends, holidays
Must have a reliable vehicle/transportation
