As a new position for the organization, the ideal candidate for the Human Resource Coordinator position will play a vital role in supporting HR functions across the agency to foster a positive workplace environment.
Job Responsibilities
As a member of the senior management team, the Human Resource Coordinator will assist in building and managing effective human resource systems. In this role, you will:
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment and on-boarding process including benefit administration
- Record and monitor time and attendance for all employees
- Coordinate the process for a leave of absence as provided under the Employment Standards Act as well as WSIB
- Administer and record all training and development events
- Provide support to leadership relating to employee relations, coaching initiatives and corrective action as needed
- Oversee compliance for various legislation such as Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards, Workers Safety and Insurance Act as well as the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Processing the required documentation and retention of employee files
- Provide support to employees on various HR topics
- Support the vision, mission and strategic plan for the Agency
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Education, Skills and Qualifications
- 2 year Diploma in Business Administration, with a focus on Human Resources (required)
- Certified Human Resource Professional (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years in a Human Resource position.
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (sign annual offence declaration, and full check every 5 years or as needed)
- Successfully complete Children’s Aid Society Check
- TB test and current Immunizations
- Valid Class G driver license
- Knowledge Government employment legislation (such as but not limited to ESA, OHSA, OHRC, WSIA etc)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High standards of ethical behaviour, confidentiality, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively work with a team
