Position Summary
MCON Products is local, and family owned, industrial manufacturing facility that was established in 1989 in Ottawa (Carp), Ontario to provide the fast-growing market with high quality Precast Concrete products on time and at a competitive price. Our precast products include circular and elliptical concrete pipes, circular and box maintenance holes, catch basin, box culverts, oil grit separators and gravity retaining wall systems.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. This role coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance and is a non-union supervisory position of unionized employees and contractors, troubleshoots equipment issues, and minimizes production downtime.
The Maintenance Supervisor ensures maintenance activities comply with company policies, Ontario health and safety requirements, and established procedures while supporting reliable plant operations.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role in a fast-paced production environment, working closely with Operations, Production and other departments to support safety, reliability, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Production Support: Work closely with Operations to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production.
Maintenance Planning: Maintain maintenance schedules, records, parts inventory, and service requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, maintenance practices, and costs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance personnel.
- Set clear priorities and expectations for maintenance activities and performance.

Operation Support
- Ensure reliable operation and availability of plant equipment and systems.
- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Respond to breakdowns and prioritize repairs based on safety, production impact, and equipment criticality.
- Partner with Operations to support daily production requirements.
Communications
- Maintain clear communication with Operations, Engineering, Health & Safety, Quality, Procurement, and Management.
- Communicate maintenance priorities, equipment risks, downtime, and corrective actions.
- Promote effective shift handovers and information sharing.
Cross-Divisional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and service providers to support plant and business objectives.
- Share best practices and support standardization and continuous improvement across operations.
- Support cross-functional initiatives related to safety, reliability, productivity, and operational excellence.
Project & Execution Management
- Plan and execute maintenance projects, shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and installations.
- Coordinate internal resources and contractors to complete work safely, on time, and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, costs, quality, and completion.

- Drive completion of maintenance priorities and monitor key performance indicators such as uptime, downtime, PM compliance, breakdowns, and maintenance backlog.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

- Foster strong working relationships between Maintenance, Operations, and other plant functions.
- Build effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.

- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, repair costs, overtime, and energy consumption.

Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset,
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing a maintenance team of up to eight employees.
- Industrial plant or concrete manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and KPI initiatives.
- Experience working with Operations, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
Technical Skills
- Millwright certification preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
- Knowledge of health & safety, lockout/tagout, and safe work practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
