Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Overnight Baker to join our culinary team.
This unique role is ideal for a skilled baker who enjoys working independently and takes pride in creating fresh, homemade desserts and baked goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing all desserts for the residence, including specialty items such as diabetic-friendly and gluten-free options, ensuring residents receive delicious treats that meet a variety of dietary needs.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and bake a variety of desserts, pastries, cookies, cakes, muffins, squares, and specialty baked goods.
· Create diabetic-friendly and gluten-free desserts that meet nutritional and dietary requirements.
· Follow standardized recipes while maintaining high quality and consistency.
· Plan and organize baking production to ensure adequate inventory for resident dining services.
· Maintain accurate food preparation and storage practices.
· Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention protocols.
· Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate supply needs to management.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Support special events, seasonal menus, and resident celebrations as required.
Qualifications
· Previous commercial baking experience required.
· Experience preparing diabetic-friendly and/or gluten-free baked goods is considered a strong asset.
· Food Handler Certification required or willingness to obtain.
· Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently during overnight hours.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
· Passion for creating high-quality baked products and enhancing the resident dining experience.
