What will you be doing!

Maintaining working relationships with contacts across related departments (Internal & External).
-
Providing expert advice, status and recommendations on procurement-related matters; Answering and making inquiries, clarification of requests, and resolution of problems with projects, client groups and end users.

Pricing, negotiating, delivering, expediting, problem resolution, and assisting with payment issues with suppliers.
-
Tracking and expediting shipments, clarifications with internal and external shipping/receiving.
-
Tracking and expediting supplier payments.
-
Requesting new vendors and updating existing vendors in Oracle.
-
Acting as single point of contact for specific project and client groups; providing procurement support and expertise and coaching.

Providing dedicated Procurement Services for domestic & International Commercial Projects as required.
-
Ensuring continuous, cost-efficient supply of essential services and materials; ensuring projects and clients meet targets and achieve goals.
-
Timely processing of orders and delivery of goods and services.
-
Negotiating Price and Delivery requirements for Products and/or Services to ensure CNL receives good value.
-
Negotiating to resolve contractual and supplier issues to ensure CNL receives uninterrupted service.
-
Resolving legal issues (eg., resolving Terms & Conditions exceptions).
-
Expediting the procurement process and ensuring timely delivery and payment to suppliers.
-
Supporting CNL’s Approved Vendor Database by continually monitoring Vendor qualifications and obtaining updated certificates and quality program information.

Maintaining clear, concise documentation on all stages of the procurement.
-
Resolving moderately complex/ moderately diverse professional business service issues within own area.
-
Exchanging/ recording/ reporting information/ data to clarify/ interpreting client issues.
-
Having input on resolution of client issues; recommending solutions.
-
Escalating complex/ more diverse issues outside of own area.
-
Being the first level of issue resolution for escalated items.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree or three (3) year College Diploma in an area such as Business Administration, Commerce or Supply Chain Management.
-
Enrolment in and participation in the National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders (NISCL) Certification Program, or a similar program, is considered an asset.

Experience
-
4-7 years pertinent experience or equal education and experience.
-
Experience and judgment to assess, recommend and initiate changes in process and procedures required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-
Knowledge of ethical purchasing and business practices through knowledge of applicable materials, products/services, sources of supply and market trends.
-
Knowledge in procurement QA practice as it is applied within the Nuclear Industry.
-
Working knowledge of code and jurisdictional requirements for goods/services for CNL and in Support of CNL Commercial Projects/Contracts both Domestic and International.
-
Formal training and/or demonstrated experience in relationship management, conflict resolution and negotiation.
-
Ability to take initiative to promote continuous process improvement within RTO Procurement and the Customer/client base.
-
Skilled in the use and knowledge of Oracle Purchasing and iProcurement modules (or similar ERP modules).
-
Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with internal clients and suppliers.

Strong computer skills, with advanced capability in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint).

Willingness to put in extra hours as required.

Ability to maintain clear, concise documentation on all stages of the procurement.
-
Ability to work independently, establish priorities in order to meet conflicting deadlines, and resolve conflicts promptly.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Reliability Status which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
This position is part of the USW4096 Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the USW4096 Collective Agreement.
