The Chef de Partie is responsible for making sure all our guests’ meals are prepared and cooked to Bellstar’s standards. Our Chef de Parties work closely with their team to make each meal with high-quality ingredients and care, to give our guests an amazing restaurant experience.

Responsibilities for this role include:
- Ensuring all menu items are prepared and cooked to recipe standards with the highest quality cooking techniques and products
- Assisting with leading the kitchen team, creating a positive work environment
- Assisting in the training of prep cooks and cooks, giving feedback for improvement
- Ensuring line is ready for service with correct amount of stock for business levels
- Managing various cooking stations in absence of Sous Chefs
- Ensuring kitchen equipment is being properly operated and cleaned
- Reviewing BEOs with Sous Chefs, preparing and executing as requested
- Ensuring all health & safety, and food safe procedures are being followed
- Ensuring overall cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas, assisting as needed
- Assist with inventory and ordering
- Complying with all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
- Other relevant and related duties as assigned
The “must haves”:
- 3 years cooking experience with 2 years supervisory experience
- Valid certification in Food Safety
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking procedures and techniques
- Ability to follow all sanitation standards according to provincial health regulations
- Ability to lead and inspire a team, while giving direction and delegate tasks
- Desire to maintain a constant sense of urgency and productivity working in a fast-paced environment
- Positive and energetic attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to delegate tasks
- Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, bend and stretch for long periods of time, as well as be able to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
The “nice to haves”:
- Journeyman certification or equivalent culinary education
- Valid certification in First Aid
- Valid certification in WHIMS
