Marshall Land Systems is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) to join our team in Ottawa, ON. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, ILS, this role is responsible for the delivery, management, and oversight of ILS activities across defense programs executed for the Government of Canada. The successful candidate will ensure all ILS deliverables are completed in accordance with contractual obligations, seamlessly integrated into broader program objectives, and executed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This position requires a deep understanding of ILS principles, methodologies, and processes within the Department of National Defence (DND) framework, along with significant experience in customer-facing environments. The Sr. Engineer, ILS will serve as a key liaison among Marshall Canada, government stakeholders, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and delivery excellence across all program phases.
Your responsibilities in this role:
ILS Expertise:

Conduct comprehensive logistic analyses, including reliability, maintainability, and availability

Collaborate and positively influence cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with logistic support, system performance, and lifecycle costs

Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and other forums to communicate ILS considerations and recommendations effectively

Author ILS deliverables (plans and reports), where appropriate, to meet customer expectations, within time, cost and performance expectations
Program Execution & Oversight:

Lead and oversee the delivery of the ILS scope, within allocated program responsibility, ensuring compliance with DND standards and contract requirements, in accordance with MILSTAN 1369 and other ILS associated MILSTANs

Monitor progress, manage risks, coordinate with project teams and Engineering Manager – ILS to ensure ILS milestones are resourced, met and documented
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

Serve as the primary ILS point of contact for Customer and Partners representatives, ensuring clear communication and alignment with client expectations, within contract boundaries

Foster a collaborative relationship with subcontractors and suppliers to deliver a unified approach to ILS deliverables, including maintenance, training, and technical documentation
ILS Planning & Development:

Work to and inform the ILS plan to ensure it contains all the ILS elements required for the program and provides an adequate forecast of output and resource demand to enable cost effective and efficient management of the ILS components of the program

Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align supportability with the product technical design and operational requirements
Liaison with Subcontractors:

Manage ILS-related tasks conducted by subcontractors, ensuring they meet program standards, timelines, and cost constraints

Oversee subcontractor deliverables, providing guidance, support, and corrective actions when necessary to ensure successful project outcomes
Documentation & Reporting:

Ensure all ILS documentation is prepared accurately, reviewed for compliance, and submitted in accordance with contractual requirements

Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on ILS status, risks, and any support issues that may impact program deliverables
Continuous Improvement & Lifecycle Support:

Identify opportunities for ILS process improvements to enhance efficiency and supportability

Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering or a related field

Minimum of 6 years of experience in Integrated Logistics Support

Strong knowledge of Integrated Logistic Support principles, systems, and practices

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work with diverse teams and stakeholders

Familiarity with applicable Canadian and international defense standards and regulations

Familiarity with ILS related MILSTANs
-
Knowledge of ASD S series of standards with particular reference to1000D and 3000L is considered an asset
-
Knowledge of deployable infrastructure, logistic vehicles or land systems is considered an asset
-
Knowledge of PLM Windchill is considered an asset

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 commensurate on qualifications and work experience.
