The Sales Representative is responsible for finding, onboarding, managing and growing accounts, providing customer support, and ensuring successful coordination of service, equipment, and preventative maintenance projects. This role combines strategic account management, business development, and operational execution to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth. The role requires proactive relationship management, quoting and budgeting expertise, and strong internal coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management
- Hunt for and onboard new accounts.
- Develop, manage, and grow accounts to ensure long term success.
- Work with key customers to plan budgets for the upcoming and future years
- Act as primary liaison between key customers and internal departments (Sales, Service, Operations, and Marketing).
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new equipment, service, and preventative maintenance contracts and sales.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and annual service budgets to national customers.
- Negotiate contract terms in alignment with company targets.
- Attend scheduled customer meetings and present updates, project status, and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor and analyze account performance, KPIs, and sales trends to drive improvements.
- May occasionally visit customer locations for project check ins and relationship management
- Utilize Enbridge program to find and onboard new customers.
Customer Care & Support
- Manage all inbound and outbound communications related to customer requests.
- Own customer escalations and ensure timely resolution.
- Provide real-time virtual assistance using internal digital tools.
- Support customers with platform navigation, documentation, and follow-ups post-service or installation.
- Coordinate with Accounts Receivable on invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
Project & Quote Coordination
- Coordinate full project lifecycle: quote development, work order creation, equipment ordering, logistics, scheduling, and delivery.
- Request and review subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Oversee installations and ensure service partner compliance documentation is up to date.
- Assist in project recaps, post-service reviews, and warranty or quality concerns.
- Support or lead project execution for national PM programs and RFP submissions.
Administration
- Continuously update contact records, account notes, and company information in CRM.
- Conduct research to qualify new leads and identify account expansion opportunities.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive offerings, and product knowledge.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in account management, customer support, or a related field
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or Supply Chain preferred
- PMP Certification is an asset
- Experience with CRM and quoting systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of commercial construction, facility maintenance, or service-based environments is an asset
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-first mindset
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally across departments
Compensation:
Your annual base salary will be set at $77,000.00 CDN. In this position you will be eligible to participate in our company bonus program. This bonus is based on overall company profitability and individual/team performance & KPIs at a maximum of 10%. The company retains the right to change this bonus structure as the needs of the business may change and will be reviewed on an annual basis. In order to receive the bonus, you must be employed with Northern Dock Systems at the time of payment.
You are offered to receive reimbursement for your KM's driven at at the rate of 0.72 cents per KM for the first 5,000 kms and 0.66 cents each additional km after 5,000 annually. For reimbursement, you will be submitting your report bi-weekly on the Friday towards the end of each pay period or $1,200.00 a month for car allowance versus the per KM.
