About the Role
We are looking for an Inventory Coordinator who can support the production team in scaling production and delivery operations.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical individual who understands the importance of inventory accuracy in a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting production through timely material preparation, and proactively identifying inventory shortages, damages, and discrepancies before they impact operations.
The successful candidate will be disciplined, organized, and comfortable working within inventory management systems while collaborating closely with production, purchasing, and supply chain teams.
Responsibilities and Duties
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records through daily inventory transactions, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical stock and inventory management software.
- Ensure accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, including data entry and inventory transactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify potential shortages, inventory risks, or stock imbalances.
- Track inventory shrinkage resulting from damage, handling issues, production losses, or transaction errors.
Production Support
- Prepare, stage, and issue materials required to support production schedules.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure parts and components are available when needed.
- Identify potential material shortages and escalate concerns before production is impacted.
- Assist in maintaining organized inventory locations and material flow throughout the facility.
Reporting & Analysis
- Develop and maintain inventory reports and performance metrics.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and inventory health reviews.
- Report inventory variances, shortages, damaged goods, and inventory trends to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Support inventory forecasting by identifying usage trends and potential supply risks.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Effectively communicate inventory status, shortages, and expected lead times to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding shipment status, discrepancies, damaged goods, and replacement requirements.
- Process damage reports and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely resolution.
General Responsibilities
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English, including the ability to describe information, concepts, ideas, and convey instructions to others.
- Ability to independently manage, organize, and complete work activities to meet established deadlines and priorities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and material management processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Need to have:
- 5 years of working in an inventory/supply chain role with a technical product
- At least a post-secondary degree/diploma in an analytical field
- Experience with supply chain software (e.g., Katana, Netsuite, Fish Bowl)
- Excellent English communications (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders across the organization
