Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, pruning, and training grapevines to promote healthy growth and optimal fruit production
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors, sprayers, and harvesters safely and efficiently
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across vineyard blocks
- Perform routine maintenance on tools, equipment, and irrigation infrastructure to ensure smooth operations
- Use hand tools for trellising, tying vines, and removing weeds or unwanted growth
- Conduct regular vineyard inspections to identify pests, diseases, or other issues requiring attention
- Support heavy lifting tasks involving bags of fertilizer, pruning debris, or harvested grapes
- Follow safety protocols during all activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining farm machinery and power tools
- Understanding of irrigation systems and horticultural practices for vine health management
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors and harvesters with precision
- Proficiency with hand tools used in vineyard maintenance and trellising tasks
- Basic math skills for measuring quantities of fertilizers or adjusting irrigation settings
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and extended periods of outdoor work in varying weather conditions and in varying positions (walking, bending, kneeling, crouching)
- Strong attention to detail for vineyard inspections and equipment upkeep
Pay: $17.60-$17.80 per hour
