Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mason Tender / Equipment Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting construction operations through general labour duties and the safe operation of various equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and capable of working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
Mason Tender Duties:
- Assist with site preparation and cleanup
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Perform physical tasks including digging, lifting, and grading
- Support skilled trades as required
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Equipment Operation Duties:
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, aerial work platforms, compactors, or other machinery as required
- Perform pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical issues
- Ensure safe operation around crew members and the public
- Follow site plans and supervisor instructions accurately
Qualifications and Certifications
- Equipment operation certification would be considered an asset
- Valid Class G driver’s license (Class AR preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Strong understanding of safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- First Aid / CPR
- WHMIS
- Working at Heights
Experience
- Proven experience in construction, masonry, or related trades mandatory
- Experience as a Mason Tender would be considered a strong asset
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation required
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions is highly desirable
- Experience with renovation or restoration projects is a plus
- Knowledge of caulking techniques and surface preparation beneficial
- Prior work involving schematics interpretation or masonry layout is advantageous
