⚠ IMPORTANT LOGISTICAL & FINANCIAL DETAILS (Please Read Before Applying) To ensure this role is the right fit for your long-term career goals, please review our operational structure:
- The Training Investment: For unlicensed candidates, the mandatory Nova Scotia-approved training program takes place in September. This requires an upfront investment of approximately $3,500 from the candidate. Brave Driver Training will fully reimburse this cost to you via a monthly stipend added to your regular pay over a 2-year contract.
- Travel Logistics & Bonus: Instructors are required to drive to different locations to pick up students (up to 25 minutes between lessons). We provide the fully insured company car and cover 100% of the gas and maintenance. While travel time between individual lessons is unpaid, we offer a 1-hour paid travel bonus for any day you complete 8 hours of instruction!
The Role This is NOT a courier or delivery role. As a Driving Instructor, you are a teacher. You will make a tangible difference in your community by helping nervous teenagers and adults develop the skills and confidence to pass their road test. Hours range from part-time to full-time, varying by season and demand.
Who We Are Looking For (Two Paths):
- Licensed Instructors: You already hold a valid Nova Scotia Driving Instructor's license. We can help streamline your onboarding and transfer process.
- Career Changers (We Will Train You!): You don’t have a license yet, but you have a strong background in teaching, coaching, or mentoring. Being a great driver is not enough; you must be able to clearly and patiently verbalize complex instructions in a moving vehicle.
What We Provide:
- Company Vehicle: Fully equipped, insured company car for instruction, plus all gas covered.
- Competitive Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour for instructional time, a 1-hour paid travel bonus for 8-hour shifts, plus the monthly training reimbursement stipend for unlicensed trainees.

Strict Requirements:
- Driving Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clean driving experience in Canada (Class 5 license). No speeding tickets or major violations.
- Communication: Exceptional English communication skills. You must be able to break down concepts clearly and calmly. (Fluency in additional languages is a major asset!).
- Professionalism & Promptness: You will manage your own daily schedule. Strict adherence to punctuality and 24-hour administrative deadlines is required.
- Clearances: Clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
- Commitment: Willingness to commit to a 2-year contract.
