Position Overview
HTNS is seeking a Marketing & Stakeholder Relations Coordinator to support communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational operations.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is:
- Organized and detail-oriented
- A strong writer and communicator
- Comfortable working across communications, marketing, stakeholder relations, and administration
- Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and discretion
The coordinator will collaborate extensively and play an important role in supporting external communications, partner relationships, and Board-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing & Communications
- Coordinate and maintain external communications channels, including the website, newsletter, and social media accounts.
- Draft, edit, schedule, and post content aligned with organizational priorities, events, announcements, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a consistent brand voice and presentation across all communications materials.
- Support the creation and distribution of communications products, including:
- website content
- e-newsletters
- social media copy
- presentations
- briefing notes
- event materials
- Help manage editorial calendars and communications schedules.
- Monitor basic communications analytics and provide regular updates on performance and engagement.
2. Stakeholder Relations
- Support engagement with external partners, including government, community organizations, housing-sector stakeholders, funders, and other key audiences.
- Coordinate outreach, meetings, follow-up, and relationship management activities.
- Maintain accurate stakeholder databases, contact lists, and engagement records.
- Prepare agendas, background materials, meeting notes, and summaries for stakeholder meetings.
- Support the planning and delivery of stakeholder-facing events, briefings, and engagement opportunities.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration, visibility, and sector relationships.
3. Board & Event Support
- Coordinate planning for Board of Directors meetings and events
- Scheduling, agendas, materials, and follow-ups
- Support planning and execution of:
- stakeholder events
- project announcements
- roundtables or site visits
4. Administrative Support
- Maintain organized records and files (SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
- Assist with scheduling and calendar coordination
- Provide general administrative support to the team as required
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Postsecondary education in communications, marketing, public relations, business administration, public administration, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience (co-op or internships acceptable)
- Experience supporting Boards or working in the non-profit, public sector, housing, community development, or stakeholder-based environment is considered an asset
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing or supporting digital communications platforms, including websites, email newsletters, and social media channels
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships with diverse audiences
- Professional judgment and discretion, especially in handling confidential or Board-related materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common workplace software
- Experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), CRM tools, and/or graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) is an asset
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, growing team environment

Work Conditions/Terms
- Office environment at 7071 Bayers Road, Halifax
- 32 hours per week (typically 4 days/week)
- Flexibility required to occasionally work a fifth day for events or meetings
- Salary ranges from $55,000 - $65,000 with RRSP, health and dental benefits, and personal days
