About Us
Lou Dawg's Southern BBQ is a busy, high-energy restaurant and entertainment venue in North Bay known for great food, exceptional hospitality, live entertainment, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant & Bar Manager to lead our front-of-house operations while also handling key administrative and beverage management responsibilities.
This is a dual-role position requiring a balance between active floor leadership behind the bar and office-based management duties throughout the work week. Evening availability is essential to ensure management presence during peak operating hours.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and supervise front-of-house team members.
- Prepare and manage staff schedules.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace culture.
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure efficient bar operations.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally, including in-house complaints, online reviews, and Meta Messenger inquiries.
- Monitor service standards and overall restaurant atmosphere.
- Build relationships with regular guests and promote customer loyalty.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations.
- Monitor labour costs and staffing levels.
- Coordinate with kitchen management to maintain efficient service flow.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Create and schedule weekly entertainment and promotional social media posts.
- Maintain and update TouchBistro POS system and Google Business profiles to ensure menu and hours are accurate.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, employee manuals, cleaning checklists, and beverage recipe books.
- Coordinate entertainment bookings based on business needs.
- Complete weekly inventory counts and ordering through LCBO, The Beer Store, Sysco, and independent suppliers.
- Manage beverage costing and pricing while assisting with overall food and beverage cost control.
- Lead beverage menu development and contribute to food menu development twice annually.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of restaurant and bar management experience.
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, scheduling, and labour cost control.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Assets
- Experience with TouchBistro POS.
- Social media and promotional marketing experience.
- WSET Level 1, Cicerone Level 1, or equivalent beverage knowledge gained through experience.
- Experience with menu costing and development.
