Corrcoat Services is currently seeking Industrial Painters to join our field operations team. This role will be responsible for providing both abrasive blasting and application of paint and coatings to interior and exterior surfaces. Painters are required to have knowledge of equipment required to carry out their tasks and to read and understand all job specific HSE procedures, JHA’s and relevant documentation.
This position will need to have the ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment, be a self-starter and provide a strong work ethic. A successful candidate needs to be adaptive, flexible and strong team player who can collaborate with others. This position will possibly require travel to different various job sites across Canada.
General Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides multi-colour finishes, urethanes and epoxy coatings in a safe and productive manner.
- Applying paint, and coatings to interior and exterior surfaces.
- Mixes and applies coatings to manufacturers product data sheets and adhere to client specifications.
- Understands and demonstrates SSPC and NACE standards for surfaces.
- Prepares and cleans, surfaces to be painted through abrasive blasting.
- Conducts regular required maintenance of equipment to ensure proper performance.
- Follows set company HSE requirements for their tasks.
- Understands and follows company and site HSE policies and rules.
- Attends Toolbox meetings, HSE and task specific training.
- Able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Following all safe work practices.
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of experience of industrial painting is preferred.
- Spray painting experience is preferred.
- Abrasive blasting experience is preferred.
- Hydra cat/plural coating experience is an asset.
- Any trade tickets/safety tickets are an asset.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and good punctuality.
- Ability to follow direction and work in a team setting.
- Basic training on safe function of Coating Application equipment.
- Understanding of both NACE and SSPC surface preparation standards.
- Ability to maintain the basic components of Coating Application equipment.
- Physically able to perform Coating Application duties.
- Complete all required company and site HSE training.
- Able to work in both outdoor and indoor conditions.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle physically demanding movements (bending, kneeling, crouching).
- Able to work at high heights in a safe manner.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
