HR Project Partners is hiring a Junior Payroll and Benefits Coordinator on behalf of our Client.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Payroll & Benefits Administrators to help deliver accurate and timely weekly and bi-weekly payroll. You’ll play a key part in supporting timesheet processing, government remittances, year-end activities, and benefits administration - helping keep everything running smoothly.
This position is located in St. John’s, NL.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with payroll processing for 2 weekly and 2 biweekly payrolls, government remittances, RRSP remittances, monthly/quarterly and year end processes.
- Assist employees with SAP timesheet entry, updates and inquires.
- Updating employee changes and new hires to the payroll system and online benefit programs.
- Monthly reconciliations for HAPSET, Group Insurance, union dues and parking remittances.
- Work closely with the HR and Finance/Cost teams to provide support for adherence to Company Policies and Procedure, collective agreement and offshore standards.
- Other duties as required by Payroll & Benefits Administrator or Department Manager.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, or a combination of education and related experience
- 1-5 years’ experience in a payroll administration role.
- Completion of, or significant completion of, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
- Knowledge of NL & AB Employment Standards, Pension, Benefits, WHSCC and HAPSET.
- Experience completing Salaried, Hourly and Union Payrolls for larger organizations.
- Working knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow and SAP is considered an asset.
