Technical Support Engineer
Location: Burnaby, BC
Company: ANYLOAD Weigh & Measure
Employment Type: Full-time
About ANYLOAD
ANYLOAD Weigh & Measure is a Canadian industrial technology company headquartered in Burnaby, BC, with international operations across North America and Asia. We design and manufacture load cells, scales, weighing systems, instrumentation, and industrial measurement solutions used in critical applications across transportation, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, food processing, aerospace, medical, construction, and other demanding industries.
Our products are often small components inside much larger systems, but they perform essential work: measuring force, weight, load, tension, and structural performance where accuracy, reliability, and safety matter. We support customers ranging from local equipment builders to multinational manufacturers, system integrators, and industrial operators.
We are looking for people who want to work on practical engineering problems, see a wide range of real-world applications, and contribute to products that help critical industries operate safely and efficiently.
About the Role
ANYLOAD is seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Technical Support Engineer to join our internal support team in Burnaby.
This role acts as a bridge between engineering, sales, marketing, production, quality, customers, and integration partners. You will help translate technical information into clear documentation, support product onboarding, review specifications, respond to technical inquiries, and help our commercial team present accurate product information to the market.
A key part of this role will also involve supporting technical training for ANYLOAD’s integration partners, dealers, and internal customer service and sales teams. You will help ensure that the people representing and supporting our products understand how they work, where they are used, how they should be selected, and how to communicate their value accurately.
The role is well suited for someone with an engineering background who enjoys technical communication, product knowledge, structured problem solving, and working with both internal teams and external partners.
You will work with an international team and support applications across a wide range of industries where weighing, force measurement, and sensor reliability are mission-critical. Occasional travel may be required within Canada, to the United States, and to Asia to support customers, integration partners, suppliers, training, product launches, and internal team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Documentation
- Create, update, and maintain product datasheets, user manuals, installation guides, technical bulletins, application notes, and product selection guides.
- Review existing technical documents for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and completeness.
- Translate complex technical details into clear, practical content for customers, sales teams, dealers, integration partners, and internal staff.
- Support the standardization of product specifications, terminology, drawings, and technical reference materials.
Product Support and Product Onboarding
- Support new product onboarding by preparing technical documentation, specification sheets, configuration guides, drawings, QA checklists, and internal reference materials.
- Build product knowledge across load cells, strain gauge sensors, weighing indicators, digital junction boxes, weighing assemblies, instrumentation electronics, and related industrial weighing systems.
- Assist sales, customer service, engineering, and production teams with technical questions and product selection.
- Help identify gaps in documentation, product information, training material, and internal support processes.
Training and Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and maintain technical training materials for integration partners, dealers, customer service, sales, and internal support teams.
- Support product training sessions covering product selection, installation considerations, application fit, technical limitations, troubleshooting, and common customer questions.
- Help ensure that external partners and internal teams can accurately explain ANYLOAD products, recommend suitable solutions, and identify when engineering input is required.
- Assist with onboarding and continuing education for customer-facing staff as new products, tools, and documentation are released.
- Support occasional in-person or remote training for partners and internal teams in Canada, the United States, Asia, and other markets as needed.
Sales and Marketing Support
- Work with the sales and marketing teams to provide accurate technical references for brochures, web content, product launches, training material, and promotional documentation.
- Develop technical case studies that show how ANYLOAD products are used in real-world industrial applications.
- Help streamline technical inquiry forms and support processes for prospective customers.
- Conduct market and competitor research on product specifications, technical trends, and regional application requirements.
Internal and Customer Support
- Support internal teams with clear, accurate technical information.
- Assist with customer-facing and partner-facing technical inquiries when required.
- Help prepare materials for training, dealer support, integration partner support, product introductions, and international coordination.
- Participate in occasional travel to support customers, integration partners, suppliers, trade shows, product training, and internal operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in technical support, applications engineering, product testing, product documentation, manufacturing, industrial equipment, sensors, or a related technical role.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong technical writing ability, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and accurate documentation.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals.
- High attention to detail and strong ability to review specifications, drawings, manuals, and technical data.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, customer service, production, and quality.
- Practical problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn a broad product line.
- Local to the Lower Mainland and able to work from our Burnaby office. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
- Ability to travel occasionally within Canada, to the United States, and to Asia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial sensors, load cells, weighing systems, instrumentation, low-level analog signals, industrial equipment, or manufacturing.
- Experience preparing product datasheets, user manuals, installation guides, technical bulletins, application notes, product selection tools, or training materials.
- Experience delivering technical training, product training, or internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Experience working with dealers, system integrators, distributors, international teams, suppliers, or customers.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, electronics, calibration, quality systems, or compliance documentation.
- French, Mandarin, or Spanish language skills are considered assets.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is technically curious, careful with details, and able to communicate clearly. You should be comfortable working with engineering data, product specifications, manuals, drawings, and practical customer requirements.
This role requires someone who can balance technical accuracy with clear communication. You do not need to know every product on day one, but you must be willing to learn, ask precise questions, verify details, and produce reliable work.
You should also be comfortable helping others learn. This role is not only about knowing the technical answer, but also helping customer service, sales, dealers, and integration partners understand the answer well enough to support customers properly.
