Reports To: Restaurant Supervisor
Exit 79 Restaurant / Amsterdam Inn & Suites is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Bartender to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by preparing and serving beverages while maintaining a welcoming, professional, and organized environment. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, previous bartending experience, and a passion for hospitality.
Compensation: Hourly wage plus gratuities/tips.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests
- Take customer orders and serve beverages and snacks
- Assess customer needs and preferences and provide beverage recommendations
- Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails according to recipes and standards
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements
- Restock and replenish bar inventory, supplies, and garnishes
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive guest experience
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and beverage regulations
- Wash and maintain all glassware from the restaurant, bar, conferences, and events
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and equipment according to company standards
- Assist with bar setup, closing procedures, and general operational duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous bartending experience required
- Knowledge of drink preparation, mixology techniques, and restaurant etiquette considered an asset
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills required
- Second language considered an asset
- Relevant bartending certification preferred
Education & Training
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Hospitality-related certification
- Food Safety and Workplace Safety training
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be able to understand and communicate effectively in English
- Flexible to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Missions et responsabilités
- Accueillir les clients et assurer un service chaleureux et professionnel au bar
- Prendre les commandes de boissons et d’en-cas et les servir rapidement et avec précision
- Conseiller les clients sur les boissons et répondre à leurs questions
- Assurer le service des boissons alcoolisées et non alcoolisées
- Vérifier l’âge légal des clients conformément à la réglementation en vigueur
- Maintenir la propreté et l’organisation du bar et des espaces de service
- Débarrasser et laver la verrerie du bar, du restaurant et des événements
- Réapprovisionner les stocks du bar (boissons, garnitures et fournitures)
- Collaborer avec l’équipe pour assurer un service fluide et efficace
- Respecter les normes d’hygiène, de sécurité alimentaire et de service des boissons
- Participer à la mise en place et à la fermeture du bar selon les besoins
Qualifications et compétences
- Expérience en service de bar ou en restauration requise
- Excellentes compétences en service à la clientèle et en communication
- Attitude positive, professionnelle et orientée équipe
- Sens de l’organisation et rapidité d’exécution
- Capacité à travailler dans un environnement dynamique et rapide
- Autonomie et fiabilité
- Connaissances de base en informatique (atout)
- Connaissance d’une deuxième langue (atout)
- Formation en service de bar ou restauration (atout)
Formation
Obligatoire :
- Diplôme d’études secondaires ou équivalent
Souhaitable :
- Formation en hôtellerie ou restauration
- Formation en sécurité alimentaire et en santé et sécurité au travail
Exigences supplémentaires
- Être légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada
- Être capable de répondre aux exigences physiques du poste
- Capacité à communiquer efficacement en anglais
- Disponibilité pour travailler selon des horaires variés, incluant soirs, fins de semaine et jours fériés
