If you like working with your hands this could be your next job. As a Net Wash / Maintenance Technician, you help keep our net shop operations safe, clean, and running smoothly. Your work has a direct impact on healthy fish, safe nets, and sustainable seafood on plates around the world.
In this role, you are the person who makes sure our nets are properly washed, handled, and ready to go back to sea. You will work mainly in the Net Shop and yard, using high-pressure washing systems, lifting equipment, and vehicles to keep everything moving. Your days will be active, practical, and never completely the same.
- Receive dirty nets coming in from sea sites and get them ready for processing
- Assist the boom truck operator in fleeting and staging dirty nets for washing
- Operate a forklift and skid steer (with in-house training available if you are not yet certified)
- Wash nets with high-pressure water systems (upwards of 3000 psi) following safe procedures
- Control and treat wastewater from net washing in line with environmental guidelines
- Record net identification and details accurately on assigned work orders
You will be an important part of keeping the Net Shop safe, tidy, and well organized, while also supporting the maintenance of our washing systems. There is a mix of routine tasks and small fixes, and you will get to know our equipment and processes well over time. You will also help keep our paperwork and timesheets in good shape, so everything lines up from sea site to payroll.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the Net Shop and yard
- Keep a positive, respectful attitude with co-workers and contribute to good team spirit
- Complete and submit a weekly timesheet with the correct charge codes for payroll
- Support the manager in purchasing supplies needed to maintain and repair equipment
- Carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance on net washing equipment
You do not need to be an aquaculture expert to start, but you should enjoy physical work, practical tasks, and learning new skills. We care a lot about your reliability, attitude, and willingness to work safely and follow procedures. If you like rolling up your sleeves, working with equipment, and seeing the results of your work right away, you will fit in well.
- Experience from hands-on work such as farming, fishing, warehousing, construction, or similar
- Comfort with physical tasks, including lifting, moving gear, and working on your feet through the day
- Interest in operating equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and high-pressure washers (training provided)
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to be part of a team that depends on each other
- Functional English skills for work instructions, safety information, and teamwork
