What You Will Do

Under general direction from the Service Manager and/or Supervisors, responsible for the profitable execution of assigned small-dollar Fire and/or Sprinkler Service Projects.
Works with Sales and Operations Leadership and other teams, as needed, to provide sales support activities early in the project development process and provide input on strategy, vendor/partner selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment, etc.
Provides work direction to project execution teams that may include Engineers, Designers, Technicians, Project Coordinators, and Subcontractors to ensure that assigned projects are completed accurately, on time, billed appropriately, within budget, and within the scope of the contract. Responsible for maintaining positive cash flow and actively pursuing change orders.
Responsible for following consistent and repeatable project management procedures and processes. Maintains an effective balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results.
Helps drive Service revenue for the fiscal period by ensuring the continual flow of all service-related work (open service work orders). Provides assistance to Coordinators and Supervisors for any missing information required to close out Service Requests.

How You Will Do It

Ensures that Johnson Controls resources and subcontractor/vendor resources adhere to site or JCI safety policies, whichever is more stringent.
Manages the scope, costs, resources, and risks on assigned projects to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Acts as the primary on-site leader for execution teams on assigned projects. Develops Project Execution Plans, including, but not limited to, Work Breakdown Structures, Organizational Charts, Safety Plans, Project Schedules, Issue/Risk Logs, and Staffing Requirements to execute projects according to plan.
Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client-issued instructions/notices, field directives, and/or project schedule changes. Actively pursues change orders for such changes and additional opportunities. Assists Sales Representatives with associated cost estimates, prepares proposals, and negotiates final settlement prices, as well as customer acceptance.
Manages project-related accounts payable, billing, and collections. Completes project billing with the assistance of the Service Coordinator and Biller in a timely and accurate manner to maintain positive cash flow.
Reviews and interprets contract Terms and Conditions to ensure work is completed to customer satisfaction and JCI standards.
Analyzes financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems. Effectively communicates project progress, issues, and financial status to management as required.
Manages risks and establishes project recovery plans when required. Resolves disputes with minimal need for escalation.
Ensures project document controls comply with contract requirements and JCI standards.
Oversees project progress to ensure compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques.
Manages the selection, ordering, and delivery schedules of materials to be procured for assigned projects.
Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors. Attends job progress meetings as required. Ensures subcontractors understand project expectations.
Coordinates with the Service Manager, Service/Sprinkler Supervisors, and/or Installation Project Managers regarding the allocation of resources needed to meet project objectives. Ensures any engineering and commissioning performed by the field team are in accordance with established standards. Facilitates escalation of product-related problems.
Assists the Service Manager and/or Sales team in project development efforts.
Provides feedback on the performance of Engineers and Designers to Engineering and Design Team Leaders, as well as Operations Management.

What We Look For

A minimum of one year of direct field experience in the building construction or electrical project industry, ideally with Fire Alarm or Sprinkler industry experience.
Must have the ability to communicate technical material, both verbally and nonverbally, to technical and non-technical audiences.
Travel may be required based on project assignments and business needs.
Must be proficient in project management software and financial accounting systems.
Experience working with MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat/Writer, Visio, and a basic Windows environment.
Due to the requirement for a Secret-level security clearance, only Canadian citizens are eligible for consideration for this position.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $35.57-$48.55 (Hourly rate will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
