Mid Island Co-op is hiring a Senior Manager, Marketing and Community Impact at our Administration Office in Nanaimo, British Columbia

Things you’ll do:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and as part of the Mid Island Co-op Management Team, the Senior Manager Marketing and Community Impact is responsible for leading the marketing and community relations team in all aspects of Mid Island Co-op’s Marketing, Community Engagement and external communications.
- Provide leadership to the Mid Island Co-op Marketing and Community Relations team including the team’s talent management cycle (recruitment, development and training, performance management etc.).
- Actively participate in short and long-term organizational planning, budgeting and decision making, leading and creating marketing specific strategies and budgets, aligning initiatives to support the organization’s vision and strategic direction.
- Administer the operating budget for all marketing and community relation functions.
- Ensure implementation and oversight of marketing of community/member relations activities and communicate significant changes impacting the Co-op’s image and brand.
- Collaborate with various external stakeholders including but not limited to media, event organizers, community groups etc. to meet project goals, timelines and budget; recommend and/or approve changes in conjunction with Executive and Senior Leadership teams.
- Oversee, monitor and administer the modification, implementation of product plans, marketing/sales campaigns, promotions and advertising, ensuring adherence to Co-op brand standards.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators for marketing strategies; create and administer monthly reports on social media metrics and marketing initiatives and evaluate effectiveness.
- Oversee and monitor Mid Island Co-op’s digital media, online presence communication through social media networks and tools, respond to external customer inquiries, concerns and comments, and support the creation and editing of internal and external communications.
- Lead market research and monitor competitor marketing activity directly impacting the Mid Island Co-op to identify opportunities and trends within existing and new market segments.
- Partner with and provide guidance to Mid Island Co-op’s operational leaders on marketing strategies, key metrics and trends.
- Provide recommendations on innovative ideas for articles, press releases, and events.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with leaders across multiple departments to exchange/report/present information, advise and collaborate on issues/solutions.
- Develop and implement the functional business plan and associated budget. This includes periodically developing and delivering presentations on a broad range of topics to a broad audience.

Apply to become our Senior Manager, Marketing and Community Impact today if you have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, with a specialty in marketing or digital marketing, and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, with 3 or more of those years at a management level leading a team (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). This role also requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), experience using social media platforms and scheduling platforms for business communications and marketing, metrics and reporting, as well as experience in digital applications including M365, strategic applications of Generative AI, social media and media monitoring platforms, website management, and database applications. A Class 5 Drivers License and clean Driver’s Abstract is required.

Pay: $78,495.00-$98,115.00 per year
