We are seeking enthusiastic casual/part-time Dog Caregivers to join our home-based doggy daycare team. We're looking for passionate individuals who have lots of previous experience with dogs and genuinely love dogs and want to make a difference in their daily lives while enjoying a dynamic, tail-wagging work environment.
Position Overview
As a Dog Caregiver, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of our four-legged guests in our cozy home-based setting. This role combines professional pet care with the warmth and personal attention that only a home environment can provide.
What Makes It Special
Our home-based approach means every day is different, filled with puppy kisses, playful antics, and the rewarding feeling of providing exceptional care in a stress-free environment. We pride ourselves on maintaining a fun, dynamic, and very clean workplace where both our human team members and canine clients thrive. The flexible scheduling options allow you to balance your love for dogs with your personal life commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily adventures will include supervising playgroups, ensuring safe socialization, providing individual attention and cuddles, preparing and serving meals according to specific dietary requirements, administering medications when needed, maintaining a very clean and sanitary environment, monitoring dog behavior and health, engaging dogs in enrichment activities and games, communicating with pet parents about their dog's day, and assisting with drop-offs and pick-ups.
Required Skills and Qualifications
We're looking for candidates with previous hands-on experience caring for dogs in a professional or volunteer capacity as well as lots of experience owning a dog and training. This could include work at veterinary clinics, animal shelters, pet stores, dog walking services, or other doggy daycares. You should have a solid understanding of dog behavior and body language, the ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and experience recognizing signs of stress, illness, or aggression in dogs.
Additional requirements include physical stamina to keep up with active dogs throughout the day, excellent observational skills and attention to detail, strong communication skills for interacting with both pet parents and team members, the ability to remain calm and decisive in unexpected situations, basic knowledge of pet first aid (certification is a plus), obsession with keeping the work environment clean at all times, and reliability and punctuality despite the flexible scheduling.
Work Schedule and Benefits
We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate your lifestyle, including part-time morning, afternoon, or full-day shifts. Weekend availability is mandatory.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The perfect addition to our team is someone who views working with dogs as a joy, not just a job. You should be patient, compassionate, and genuinely excited about creating positive experiences for every dog in our care. We value team players who can work independently when needed, maintain professional boundaries while providing affectionate care, and contribute to our positive, energetic workplace culture. We strongly prefer Tri-Cities residents.
