About CFAT
Canadian First Aid Training is a locally owned Manitoba company providing First Aid, CPR, AED, emergency-response and safety training to individuals, workplaces and organizations.
Our programs range from everyday lifesaving skills to advanced and specialized training, including Canadian Red Cross and Heart & Stroke programs, Psychological First Aid, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and opioid harm-reduction education.
As we continue to expand our Training Department and our footprint across Manitoba, we’re looking for an organized, capable and forward-thinking Training Assistant to grow with us.
About the Role
This position helps keep CFAT’s Training Department organized, prepared and moving forward.
Working closely with our Director of Training and broader CFAT team, you’ll support course administration, customers and instructors while helping ensure classrooms, equipment and materials are ready for successful course delivery.
The role includes:
Administration & Customer Support | Hands-On Training Operations
What You’ll Do

- Communicate professionally with customers, students and instructors by phone and email
- Help ensure upcoming courses, information and action items are properly prepared and followed through

- A strong communicator who is comfortable helping customers by phone, email and in person
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and following work through to completion
- Confident using computers, email and modern office technology
- Comfortable using artificial intelligence / AI tools, or eager to learn how to use them effectively
- A capable typist with strong written communication skills
- Adaptable when priorities or schedules change
- Comfortable moving between administrative work and active course-preparation duties
- A genuine team player who values shared responsibility
- Interested in learning, improving systems and growing with the company over time

Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy bags/equipment and loading/unloading vehicles.
Previous experience in administration, customer service, education, training, logistics, scheduling or operations is an asset.
French is a significant asset
Being fluently bilingual in English and French is a significant advantage as CFAT continues to expand its ability to serve French-speaking customers and deliver French-language training.
It is not a requirement, and strong candidates who do not speak French are still encouraged to apply.
First Aid or CPR experience is also an asset, but we can teach the right person our programs, systems and processes.
Opportunity to Grow
We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to complete the same checklist every day.
We want someone who can learn our training operation, become increasingly independent and grow with CFAT.
For the right person, there is a genuine career pathway:
Training Assistant → Training Coordinator
Progression will depend on demonstrated performance, capability, independence and organizational needs.
What We Offer
- Extended health, dental, vision and life insurance for eligible full-time staff
- Paid training and professional development
- Opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement
- A collaborative, team-oriented workplace
