We are excited to partner with
Bell Lumber & Pole in their search for an experienced
Manager of Operations. This role is essential in providing immediate operational stability, strengthening leadership capability, and driving performance across safety, quality, productivity, and financial outcomes. The successful candidate will bring strong operational leadership experience and a proven ability to develop teams, implement structure, and execute on business priorities in a manufacturing environment while supporting our mission and values. As Bell continues to expand across Canada and the United States, this role is intended to become part of the company’s broader operational leadership pipeline.
As the Manager of Operations, you will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership for the Roblin facility, ensuring operational stability and consistent execution of company objectives.
- Lead and develop supervisors and employees through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Establish clear accountability frameworks and performance expectations across the site.
- Build a culture of safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Manage daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules are achieved.
- Identify and remove operational constraints and bottlenecks.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure product quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve process consistency and reliability.
- Manage labour efficiency and operating costs while supporting budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify and execute productivity improvements and cost reduction opportunities and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with senior leadership on operational strategy and long-term growth planning.
You and Your Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in plant or manufacturing operations leadership.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Forestry, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop frontline supervisors and teams.
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, quality, and production processes within an industrial setting.
- Experience driving operational performance, continuous improvement, and cost control initiatives.
- Ability to establish structure, accountability, and operational discipline in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
