About the Role
As an Accounting Coordinator, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial and operational success of our business. You'll be responsible for ensuring information is processed accurately and efficiently across a variety of accounting functions, while helping identify opportunities to improve processes and streamline workflows.
This position works closely with multiple departments and offers exposure to accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, driver pay, and general administration.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, highly organized, and persistent when it comes to resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
What You'll Do
- Process customer deposits, monitor accounts receivable balances, and follow up on collections while ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Review, reconcile, and process customer billing, interliner billing, driver pay, and owner-operator pay within established timelines.
- Review operational and financial information, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Process accounts payable invoices, vendor payments, cheque runs, and company credit card transactions.
- Maintain and verify compliance documentation for owner-operators and third-party carriers.
- Support driver onboarding by providing payroll and compensation-related orientation and information.
- Support administrative processes, documentation management, and onboarding activities as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with team members across departments to support efficient workflows and information sharing.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative role.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes ownership of their work.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
- Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a growing, evolving environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the transportation or trucking industry is considered an asset.
