Job Description: Confidential is seeking a dedicated Director of Operations to oversee and support all aspects of our operations. This role involves managing and coordinating activities related to maintaining lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas, as well as winter maintenance (snow removal and salt applications). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, an ability to balance complex scheduling across the Portfolio and from City to City, be highly organized, and have a hands-on approach to ensure all tasks are completed to high company standards and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of landscaping crews and winter maintenance teams.
- Oversee all sub-contractors across the portfolio ensuring that timelines are met and the maintenance is upkept and in keeping with the contractual obligations.
- Tender bids and estimate materials and labor requirements for contracts.
- Prepare seasonal pricing for review and implement contracts across the portfolio
- Maintain vehicle and equipment insurance ensuring timely coverages and deletions throughout the year.
- Plan and organize planting, maintenance of trees, gardens, lawns, shrubs, and hedges.
- Establish work schedules, procedures, and enforce company policies.
- Track and remit employee hours for payroll purposes as well as submit new hire documentation.
- Requisition and inventory supplies as well as the ordering of materials such as mulch and salt etc.
- Hire, train, and manage staff including plow and tractor drivers, sidewalk crews and landscape technicians.
- Provide snow removal services and prepare properties for winter conditions.
- Conduct general maintenance and ensure equipment functionality to ensure maximum operational uptime.
- Provide weekly updates on operations and staff to senior management.
- Uphold safety protocols, including PPE enforcement and adherence to company standards.
- Assist in mechanical breakdowns, deliveries, and equipment transport.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in landscaping and winter maintenance operations.
- Previous experience in management or supervision of a team(s).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Experience with accounting software including the creation of invoices
- Prior experience in tendering for projects including RFP’s
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment including plow trucks and salters.
- Valid 'G' Class driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to operate trucks with trailers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Background in horticulture considered an asset.
- The right candidate will have general knowledge of small/minor repairs to trucks and small pieces of equipment and will be able to aid in the assistance of mechanical breakdowns, deliveries, pickups, transporting of equipment etc.
Additional Information:
- Day shift during April to October; availability for evening and overnight shifts from November to March (mandatory).
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to London as well as other regions of Ontario which span our Portfolio.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
