About the Opportunity
We are seeking an International Medical Graduate (IMG) to join our physician-led medical team providing care in both hospital and clinic-based settings in Langley and South Surrey, British Columbia.
This position is ideal for:
- International Medical Graduates preparing for CaRMS or the U.S. Residency Match (NRMP)
- IMGs awaiting residency placement
- Physicians trained abroad seeking Canadian healthcare experience
- International Medical Graduates who have pursued alternative professional pathways in Canada, including research, healthcare administration, public health, clinical support roles, education, or other healthcare-related careers
- Candidates interested in strengthening their understanding of Canadian healthcare systems, medical documentation, and patient care workflows

Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient encounters within Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) during clinic and hospital-based activities
- Record patient histories, physical examination findings, assessments, diagnoses, investigations, and treatment plans as directed by physicians
- Assist physicians with chart preparation, review of laboratory and diagnostic imaging results, specialist consultations, and clinical correspondence
- Support patient flow and clinical operations by ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and available in a timely manner
- Utilize medical terminology accurately and professionally in all clinical documentation
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in accordance with provincial regulatory and professional standards
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical administration, and workflow optimization initiatives as assigned
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable healthcare privacy legislation
- Perform other clinical support and administrative duties appropriate to the candidate's training and experience
Qualifications and Requirements
- International Medical Graduate (IMG) strongly preferred
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school
- Previous clinical experience as a physician, resident, intern, clinical trainee, or healthcare professional is considered an asset
- Interest in pursuing a healthcare career in Canada, including residency training, clinical practice, research, healthcare administration, or related fields
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation, and patient care processes
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent written English skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate medical documentation
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and professional judgment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a physician-led multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional bedside manner
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy legislation
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or Primary Care
- Previous exposure to the Canadian healthcare system
- Experience with EMR platforms such as TELUS CHR, OSCAR, Med Access, Profile, Cerner, Meditech, Epic, or similar systems
- Experience with Fraser Health clinical information systems and workflows is considered an asset

Bonus Qualifications
The following are considered strong assets:
- Observation Letter issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
- Previous physician observership experience in British Columbia
- Canadian clinical experience in hospital, urgent care, emergency department, or family practice settings
- Successful completion of MCCQE Part I or equivalent examinations
- Experience participating in clinical research, quality improvement, or medical education activities
