POSITION PURPOSE:
At Septimatech, we believe strong financial operations are critical to delivering exceptional customer experiences. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Team Coordinator, you will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to broaden their experience beyond day-to-day transactional accounting. Working closely with the Accounting Team Coordinator and Corporate Controller, you'll gain exposure to budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting, process improvements, and cross-functional business initiatives while contributing to the continued growth of the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Financial Operations

Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Prepare supplier payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Process employee expense reports.
Maintain petty cash.
Process daily cash receipts.
Prepare monthly customer and vendor aging reports.

Payroll

Enter payroll data and compile payroll summaries.
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting.

General Accounting

Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
Complete bank reconciliations.
Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
Assist with fixed asset accounting and tracking.
Support GST/HST and other regulatory filings.
Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting working papers.
Other duties as required.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Assist the Corporate Controller with cash flow forecasting.
Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Prepare financial analyses and reports as requested.
Support continuous improvement of financial reporting processes.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Assist with ERP and accounting system improvements.
Develop and maintain accounting procedures and documentation.
Participate in department improvement initiatives.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Post-secondary education in accounting and/or business is required (college diploma/certificate, bachelor’s degree)
Prior experience in accounting or related field is required
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting regulations and legislation
Must demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software, and strong typing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and math skills
Experience with ERP systems (Visual ERP experience considered an asset)
Strong understanding of internal controls
Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies
Demonstrated ability to improve processes and prioritize competing deadlines

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
