Lead how programs come to life across the YMCA of Southern Interior BC - This is a newly created senior leadership role as part of our transformation of Health and Fitness programs. You will lead the design, alignment, and delivery of programs and participant experience across all sites, ensuring consistency, quality, and impact across the region.
This role sits at the center of program strategy, experience design, and operational execution. You will work across teams and locations to shape how programs are planned, delivered, and experienced by our communities.
- Compensation: $34.05 to $36.48 per hour, plus

- Reporting to: Vice President, Health, Fitness and Aquatics
- Team: 4 direct reports with multi-program oversight and a total team of +20
- Scope: Health Promotions, Fitness, and Child and Youth programs
- Location: Regional role supporting Kelowna Family Y and the H2O and programs across the Southern Interior of BC.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, regular on-site presence across locations (Occasional evenings and weekends required).
You will lead the shift to a more integrated, participant-centered model across YSIBC. This includes aligning program strategy across centers, strengthening the participant experience, and ensuring programs reflect both community needs and organizational priorities.
This role requires strong influence, collaboration, and the ability to lead through complexity without always having direct authority.
In this role, you will lead program strategy, experience design, and cross-center alignment across YSIBC.
- Lead the development and execution of an integrated programs and experience strategy
- Ensure alignment of programs with strategic priorities and community needs
- Establish consistent program standards and participant experience expectations
- Lead and support program managers, ensuring performance and accountability
- Oversee program planning, scheduling, and space allocation across locations
- Collaboration with General Managers and Facilities teams
- Drive program evaluation, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Support budget planning, financial performance, and resource allocation
- Build internal and external partnerships to strengthen impact
- Ensure strong health, safety, and safeguarding practices are embedded.
- Post-secondary education in Recreation, Kinesiology, Business, or related field
- 5 to 7+ years progressive leadership experience managing teams
- Experience across Health Promotion, Fitness, and Child and Youth programming
- Demonstrated ability to lead change in complex environments
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence without direct authority
