Our Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Fibre Laser Operator to join our team. Reporting to our Plant Supervisor, you will work as part of a skilled team composed of welders, machinists, and plasma operators. The successful candidate will have experience operating Mazak laser cutting equipment, be proficient in reading shop drawings, setting up jobs, loading materials, and producing quality parts to specification.
Your Responsibilities
- set up and operate Mazak Laser cutting machine
- work with the production team to process materials accurately and efficiently
- read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production schematics to determine the dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
- perform machine programming and make adjustments as needed
- inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
- ensure that 1st off/1st parts meet QC requirements
- conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols
- assist in training of new staff on machining techniques and safety protocols
- maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- other tasks and duties, as required
What You Need
- previous experience operating Mazak laser cutting equipment (2+ years preferred)
- knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
- ability to read and accurately interpret a wide variety of technical customer and shop drawings
- unfailing attention to detail and commitment to quality
- the ability to work within a fast-paced manufacturing facility while maintaining high quality and safety standards
