The Development Officer – Fundraising plays a key role in advancing Agelink Society’s mission by driving revenue generation, donor stewardship, sponsorship acquisition, and strategic fundraising initiatives. This role supports the sustainability and growth of Agelink programs by cultivating meaningful financial partnerships with individuals, corporations, community organizations, foundations, and grant-making bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy and Campaign Development
-Develop and implement annual and multi-year fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth plan.
-Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns, including donor drives, Giving Tuesday initiatives, monthly giving programs, merchandise, and special appeal campaigns.
-Research and identify new funding opportunities to expand revenue streams locally, nationally, and globally.
-Create data-driven strategies to increase donor retention, donor lifetime value, and supporter engagement.
Grant Writing and Foundation Relations
-Research and track grant opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, and philanthropic organizations.
-Prepare grant applications, Letters of Intent (LOIs), reporting requirements, and renewal submissions.
-Collaborate with program and leadership teams to gather necessary data and impact metrics.
Charity Registration and Regulatory Compliance
-Lead and manage Agelink Society’s application process for charitable status (CRA Registration, bylaws, governing policies, and related documentation).
-Ensure compliance with federal and provincial charity requirements, reporting obligations, and governance standards.
-Maintain required regulatory documentation, timelines, and communication with legal or accounting support when applicable.
-Develop internal procedures to support ethical fundraising, donor receipting, and charitable governance best practices once status is obtained.
Donor Relations and Stewardship
-Steward existing donors through personalized communication, recognition, and relationship-building.
-Maintain a donor database with accurate tracking of interactions, giving history, and engagement notes.
-Coordinate donor appreciation initiatives such as thank-you letters, donor spotlights, recognition events, and annual impact reports.
-Create donor onboarding and stewardship plans for first-time contributors, recurring donors, and major gift prospects.
Corporate Sponsorship and Partnership Development
-Cultivate sponsorship relationships with businesses, associations, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
-Develop sponsorship packages and partnership proposals tailored to organizational priorities and partner alignment.
-Coordinate fulfillment of sponsorship benefits, acknowledgements, and deliverables.
Fundraising Events and Campaign Support
-Support planning and execution of fundraising events such as galas, donor appreciation nights, charity auctions, and themed community events.
-Work closely with event teams, volunteers, and committees to ensure fundraising goals are met.
Communications and Reporting
-Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing teams to develop compelling fundraising messaging, promotional materials, donor stories, and digital campaigns.
-Track fundraising metrics and prepare progress reports for leadership, board members, and stakeholders.
-Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards, privacy regulations, and donor confidentiality practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
-Experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or related roles.
-Strong written communication skills with proven experience writing proposals, donor messaging, or reports.
-Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with supporters from diverse backgrounds.
-Strong research, strategic planning, and project management abilities.
-Proficiency with donor databases, CRM systems, spreadsheets, or digital tracking tools.
-Comfortable working independently.
