About the Opportunity
IPH is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join our Fire Protection team in Kamloops and the surrounding area. We are seeking a high-level apprentice or Journeyperson who brings strong technical skills, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a larger project team.
This position will involve the installation, modification, repair and testing of fire sprinkler systems across a variety of commercial, institutional, multi-family and industrial projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects while continuing to develop their skills and grow within IPH's Fire Protection division.
What You Will Do
- Install, modify, repair and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications and applicable codes and standards.
- Install sprinkler piping, fittings, valves, hangers, sprinkler heads and related fire protection components.
- Read and interpret fire protection drawings, specifications, plans and related construction documents.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove and assemble piping and components as required.
- Perform system testing, flushing and other commissioning-related work.
- Troubleshoot fire sprinkler system issues and complete repairs or modifications as required.
- Coordinate with forepersons, project teams and other trades to support efficient project execution.
- Identify potential installation conflicts and communicate issues before they impact project progress.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship while meeting project schedules and expectations.
- Provide guidance and support to junior apprentices when required.
- Follow IPH's safety policies, procedures and safe work practices at all times.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the role, skills and level of responsibility as required.
About You
- Registered Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice with significant trade experience or certified Journeyperson Sprinkler Fitter.
- Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler system installation, piping methods, fittings, valves, hangers and related components.
- Able to confidently read and interpret fire protection drawings, plans and specifications.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for assigned work.
- Strong understanding of construction site practices and coordination with other mechanical and building trades.
- Experience with commercial, institutional, multi-family or industrial fire protection projects is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Takes pride in producing accurate, clean and high-quality work.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset, actively seeks and applies constructive feedback, and is willing to adapt to evolving industry practices and technologies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physically capable of performing the requirements of the trade, including lifting and maneuvering materials, working from ladders and lifts, and working in active construction environments.

Pay: $29.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
