Based at the remote Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park, this on‑site living role places you 100 km from Jasper and surrounded by stunning glacier views and endless mountain adventure. You’ll be part of a destination that includes the Glacier View Lodge, dining outlets, retail, and the world‑famous Glacier Adventure and Skywalk. Staff live on‑site with accommodations and three hot meals per day.
• The starting wage for this role is $25.50/hour.
- Housing and meals are a taxable benefit
- End‑of‑season retention bonus up to $1.50/hr
You daily Pursuit is to bring your best in effective schedule management, system administration and overall assistance in support of the Director of Operations and General Manager. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Administrative Assistant role provides general administrative support for 2 key positions at the Columbia Icefield - the General Manager and the Director of Operations in support of the maintenance department. The Operations Administrative Assistance directly overlooks all administrative aspects of the maintenance department to include but not limited to: scheduling, payroll management, inventory management, ordering and communication management.
This position will maintain required par levels within the maintenance department and be responsible for structuring work order flow for the team. Support in other general administrative required work such as updating and maintaining purchase orders, obtaining purchase quotes as directed and following up with vendors as required.
This is a dynamic role and will include a mixture of the following:
- Sound understanding and user abilities of invoicing system and people management system.
- Supporting G.M., Director of Operations and the maintenance team administratively in order tracking, deployment, and completion along with other various administrative needs
- Oversee purchase order management ensuring tracking is updated and maintained timely for ongoing expense management assessment and clarity.
- Communicating with Operations team on Preventive Maintenance schedule
- Picking up supplies as required
- Managing schedule as required
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Energetic, dependable and self-motivated
- Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Confidence in administrative duties including competent computer skills, use of varying software and spreadsheets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Class 5 driver’s license (or Canadian equivalent) required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and capable of manual duties which may include working at heights, use of manual and power tools
- Organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced & more remote environment
