Nemx Skilled Trades has a need for an Inventory Specialist/Storekeeper. Applicants must have proven inventory and/or stores experience in a manufacturing environment.
INVENTORY SPECIALIST/STOREKEEPER
Augmenting your previous inventory and storekeeper experience within the manufacturing sector and reporting to the Administration Supervisor, the Inventory Specialist/Storekeeper is accountable for the following responsibilities:
Receive information from Administration Supervisor and Shop Foreman on what must be completed for that day.
Receive all incoming deliveries (consumables and materials) and verify the accuracy of contents against the purchase order.
Advises purchasing of any short shipments, missing components, damaged goods or missing packing slips.
Inspects and verifies incoming goods against documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods.
Accepts or returns materials and consumables according to established company procedures.
Organizes distribution and shipping of materials. Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes consumables and materials to appropriate storage areas. Handles customer pick-ups.
Operate forklift, Overhead Crane, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store consumables and materials.
Maintains internal record-keeping systems.
Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and make necessary adjustments as required.
Contacts resource people for various information.
Assembles containers, crates, packs goods and job boxes to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
Knows safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials, knows proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
Responsible for the organization of materials within the shop by project, labelling goods by project, and issuing goods by project, creating systems for goods tracking as assigned to the shop team
Takes inventory, maintains hub, organizes and places stock on shelves.
Ensures hub area is always locked/secure.
Only distribute parts specific to an assigned job # unless otherwise directed by the Shop Manager.
Responsible for the tidiness of your designated area (ensuring no product left on the shop floor) and putting everything away into racks and/or hub.
Note any problems to the Shop Manager that will affect the safety of other employees, the production due dates or the quality of every manufactured product.
Perform any other tasks required to better the company.
Use of table saws, skill saws, nail guns, overhead cranes and other hand tools as per company policy.
Complete daily shop timesheet.
Follow Nemx Skilled Trades rules and regulations, including health and safety policies and procedures.
Abide by the OHSA and other federal and provincial regulations.
Wear approved personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and foot protection.
Maintaining the required level of quality.
Work and assist other employees in continuously improving safety and production demands and quality.
Nemx Skilled Trades will provide all required safety training and certification to perform assigned duties.
Occasional use of overhead cranes, forklift, ladders and other equipment as per company.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of inventory knowledge and experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
Certified counterbalance forklift experience
Possession of a valid G level Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Comfortable working outdoors at all times of the year when required.
Experience loading and unloading racking on a sit-down counterbalance forklift.
Able to do repetitive work.
Stand or sit for extended periods.
Other warehouse and material handling experience is considered an asset.
Must possess a valid G Driver’s License and be able to provide a “clean” driver’s abstract
Able to be commercially insurable under the Nemx Skilled Trades fleet insurance (minimum age 25)
